Cordyceps
Cordyceps is a type of parasitic mushroom (a fungus) native to most of the world.
Cordyceps may have the following potential benefits;
- improved Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) production contribute to improved aerobic exercise performance
- antioxidant (which can contribute to improved skin health and longevity)
- anti-cancer properties
- reduced blood sugar
- reduced cholesterol
- reduced inflammation
Most of these benefits are believed to be related to the adenosine and cordycepin compounds found in these fungi.

As it is very expensive to harvest, nearly all supplements contain a synthetically growth version, either;
- Cordyceps sinensis (marketed as: Cordyceps CS-4)
- Cordyceps militaris
