Use of AI

No AI related tools have been used in the creation of the content on this site.

I have a number of issues with the use of AI, or rather, the use of large language modules (LLMs);

  • dependency
  • critical thinking
  • experience loss (speed over understanding)
  • randomness loss (learning things as you research an issue and try to find a solution) - tangents don't happen, adjacent and random skills are not learnt
  • research skills loss
  • creative thinking borne of blockers, boredom, frustration and other emotions...

  • instant gratification - for children

  • does any of it matter (in the workplace at least) if all of the skills and experience you have are no longer required as the expectation is you will use AI?

  • it's probably better than a random internet search and speed reading through the first few links to stack overflow
