Alcohol

An addictive drug and poison (especially for some groups). Often combined with other drugs, either because of the effects of the alcohol itself in the form of increased risk taking behaviours and reduced inhibition and/or because alcohol amplifies the effects of the drug it is being combined with.

Alcohol is catabolic so leads to muscle loss.

Calorie wise;

  • Wine is better than beer
  • Spirits are better than wine

Ethanol is a natural antidote to methanol poisoning.
