Glucose
Blood sugar.
Glucose is absorbed in the small intestine and transported via the bloodstream to cells throughout the body.
homeostasis within a narrow range of approximately 3.9 to 5.5 mmol/L (70 to 99 mg/dL)
Blood Glucose Level Monitoring
A continuous glucose monitor (CGM) can be purchased for around £50 in the UK for a two week monitor.
From my own experience;
- alcohol suppresses it regardless of what we ate
- milk also caused spikes
- high fibre foods (brown bread for example) didn't make much difference
- everything else that spiked it was expected (including rice, potatoes and crisps)
