Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
An enzyme found mostly in your liver. If your liver is damaged the ALT level in your blood can go up.
Risk factors include;
- heavy alcohol use
- a family history of liver disease
- diabetes
- obesity
- injecting drugs using shared needles
