Inactive Ingredients

Inactive ingredients are used for a host of purposes in the manufacture of supplements and medicines, such as;

  • flow/release agents: these are added (in small amounts) to the ingredients that form a tablet or capsule to stop them sticking together and/or to the machinery used in their manufacture (in other words, they help the flow of the ingredients they form a part of during the production process)

May not be vegan (can be animal or plant fat based)

made up of two substances, a saturated fat called stearic acid and the mineral magnesium

Stearic acid is found in many foods and oils.

Generally recognised as safe. Lots of false or unproven claims it's bad for you, although some can be sensitive or allergic to it.
