Works as a nasal spray but not as an oral medicine (99% gets metabolized into inactive forms). Replaced pseudoephedrine for over the counter (OTC) medications as pseudoephedrine is more heavily restricted as it can be used to make methamphetamine.

Increases blood pressure if taken in high doses (80-100mg) - a typical does is 10mg.
