The Repeated Bout Effect (RBE)
Discovered in relation to eccentric training and may be a way to minimise DOMS.

Where DOMS is concerned, performing exercises and movements at less load than that planned for within the next two or three days should reduce your soreness when you do them at full load. As an example, if leg day is Sunday, work through the same routine on Friday (just one set per exercise) using half the weight.
